Twin lobe roots blowers operate on the positive displacement principle. Two rotors rotate in opposite directions inside a casing. Air is trapped between the lobes and casing and is carried from the inlet to the outlet.
As the rotors rotate:
Air is drawn into the inlet
Trapped air moves along the casing
Air is discharged at higher pressure
No internal compression occurs
This results in steady airflow with minimal pulsation and high efficiency.
